Threads are a type of absorbable suture used in aesthetic medicine procedures that aim to improving the appearance of the skin by thickening, firming and smoothing wrinkles.
They are made of polydioxanone/polycaprolactone/polylactic acid depending on the problem and the patient's indication.
Thread treatment involves the insertion of thin and short threads under the skin using special needles or cannulas. These threads form a kind of 'scaffolding' for the skin, which supports the tissues, improving its tension and structure.
After implantation of the threads, the skin begins to produce greater amounts of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, leading to natural regeneration and improved skin density. This treatment is applied once. Over time, the threads dissolve and the skin thickens.
The final effect is visible approximately 3 months after treatment. It can be performed on the eye area, face, neck and entire body.
